Marella Farfallario Bowties Organic Pasta from Italy
Hailing from the southern province of Bari in the “heel” of Italy, these Zebra Farfalline are made from a blend of organic, IGP-certified hard (durum) wheats. While industrially-produced pastas are typically made with Teflon-coated steel dies, Marella is extruded through a bronze die, giving a rougher surface texture that better holds sauce. The dark stripes come from squid ink in the pasta, giving it a slight briny flavor when cooked.
Pasta by Marella uses the highest quality, local grain varieties and is ICEA certified organic. Dehydrated natural vegetable dyes give an eclectic mix of color to this delicious pasta.
